FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

1. I want to report an old heritage house threatened to be demolished, what do I do?
Take a photo of the house with date and time taken, and note the details such as address and a sketch/ map of its location. Write a letter and email us. Most properties we received report of are privately owned, and must be addressed with respect to the private owners.

2. Why do some people not care about heritage and the community? Why do some people destroy things, say wrong things about a person, or fight other advocates?
There could be many reasons, one of which is a difference in perspective in things. In most cases, they do not know better. They may be too preoccupied with something to consider the truth, or the things happening in their surroundings. You saw their fault because you are blessed with knowledge and mindful about your surrounding. The best way to answer your question is to seek out that person  in a dialogue for truth and understanding. Most chances, not only one person will learn, but the two of you will. You will be able to educate them about better ways, and you will learn why things are and be more understanding and emphatic.

3. Is there hope for the heritage houses to be restored?
Yes with action.

4. Why are many old heritage houses not restored?
In the local setting, many people still do not know about "heritage", its possibilities, benefits, and development procedure. Many people have different priorities other than heritage houses, and it takes time for a person to be engaged and understand how to do things that are new to them.

5. How long does it take to restore a house?
It will depend on the resources of talent, materials, and funds.

6. What can we do to help if I cannot attend your activities?
You can start by initiating heritage-related discussions and field trips with your family and friends. Join groups and meet people with the same interest. Until the time comes that you know a lot about your own community, maybe we can meet and exchange culture. :)

7. We want to partner with you, how do we proceed?
Please email us with details about your group, objective, your suggestion, and preferred dates.

8. Can you come to our place and teach us how to do develop our heritage and community?
As we have limited resources right now, we can only do so if our current resources allow. Feel free to email us the detail to review its possibility.

9. What is "heritage" in simpler terms?
It is something that you can pass on whether intangible or tangible. Each person has a different background, experience, and life story. So each of you will have unique heritage.

10. What is the best way to realize what heritage I have?
The best way for one could not be the best for another. We will share how it worked for us. Go out to a community or place very different from yours, and you will find that you have something to share that that place did not have.

We try our best to maintain positive inspiration to the public for our cause. If you notice that some answers could be better, please feel free to email us as we try to improve ourselves and embrace continuous learning.
