The Old Iloilo Provincial Jail And The Future National Museum Iloilo

Iloilo Philippines - Last May 31 prior to the opening of the National Youth Parliament, I and Carl Vincent Quitoriano paid a visit to the ongoing restoration works at the Old Iloilo Provincial Jail, which is soon to be the galleries of the National Museum of the Philippines regional branch in Iloilo.

Here some photos what inside and outside of the the future National Museum Iloilo -  Old Iloilo Provincial Jail.

According to http://historicphilippines.com/ "The Jail was originally built in 1911 and, at the time, represented the state of the art in prisons. It was simply the best that money could buy. It represented the best very best of American technology and knowledge of Corrections at the time. The place was initially built to accomodate as many as 1,200 inmates, if you can believe it."

And here are the old photos of Old Iloilo Provincial Jail.

Excited about its completion!
